Motivation Monday

Volunteer by doing for others, (and feel good about it!)

Doing something for others is a must to our happiness and well-being as human beings. It can make us extremely happy and can even help to improve our overall health. Helping other people is not only good for them; it’s good for us too!  Volunteering and helping other people helps to build a happier society for everyone. It’s not all about money though – we can also give our time, talents, and ideas. So if you want to feel good, then go out and do good.

Some tips for the day:

  • Do three extra acts of kindness today. Offer to help, give away your change, pay a compliment, or make someone smile. One trick I use: look someone straight in the eyes and compliment them. Works every time!!!  (“You look so pretty today!”, “I love your hairstyle, who is your stylist?”, “You look like such a great mom!”, “That color really compliment’s your eyes!”)
  • Reach out to help someone who’s struggling. A family member, an old friend, a FB friend (or acquaintance) that just may need a virtual hug.
  • Sign up to serve at a local women’s shelter or soup kitchen (start slow…like, once/month, then do more, if you can.)
